Aims and Scope Islam & Science is a journal of Islamic perspectives on science, civilization and intellectual history. It is dedicated to a creative exploration of the natural and human sciences. The journal publishes articles which critically evaluate contemporary knowledge as seen from within the framework of traditional Islamic thought and learning. It explores ways to renew rigorous and productive links with the intellectual tradition of Islam in order to enhance our understanding of God, life, the cosmos and the human condition.

Islam & Science uses the transliteration system of the Encyclopaedia of Islam (new edition) except that "j" is used for jim and "q" for qaf. When sending manuscripts, please send the electronic version via email cis@cis-ca.org or on a disk, along with a double-spaced print version, with diacritics written manually in red. Print all footnotes on the same page where the reference occurs. For further information, please see sample pages at www.cis-ca.org/journal/sample.
