Naumana Amjad is an assistant professor in the department of Applied
Psychology, University of Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. She did her masters
in Psychology from Government College Lahore and M.Phil from Punjab
University. She joined this department in 1991 and currently teaches a
course on Cognition, Learning and Motivation . Her interest in Science
Religion  interface in Psychology dates back to her student life. Her
first publication on  Religious  perspective of   Psyche appeared  in
1986 which was based on her  thesis work.  Currently she has eight
published papers in this area as well one book in Urdu on Islamic
theories of self and personality which she has co-authored. She has also
designed a course on Self and Personality for Center for Theology and
Natural sciences which has won an award. The course will be offered in
National College of Arts initially and in following years at Punjab
University.
Along with teaching she supervises research and experiments.  Recently
supervised research projects are Conflict resolution strategies at
workplace, Spiritual attitude questionnaire and religious coping among
mothers of Theleseamic children.  Her M.Phil research is related to
psychosocial factors of  Suicide in Pakistan.
 Naumana has won AnneMarrie Schimmel scholarship for higher studies in
England and is registered for Ph.D. at Warwick university , England. Her
doctoral  research  will focus on handling of anger and it’s
relationship to well-being. She also plans to explore self-control of
anger through spiritual practice.
